• Despite how challenging this course was, Professor Pam was able to make classes really fun, and I looked forward to going. She was super helpful and was able to explain the concepts really clearly whenever my group had any questions about the problem sets. She also really encouraged us to give feedback about the class structure throughout the semester and always took it into account, which made classes a lot more well-structured and helpful over time, and I really appreciated it. One of the best professors I have had so far, especially in the COMP department.

• Pam cares about each of the students in her class, and dedicates a lot of time and thought into ensuring that the material is presented in an understandable manner and that the recitations are productive for each of the table groups. The class environment was both comfortable and conducive to learning.

• Prof. Qian was an amazing teacher, which really showed in the way that she listened to students and was welcoming of all questions. She created a very warm and supportive environment, and was always super friendly and kind. She would allow for 1-to-1 meetings for students and asked for feedback through forms, later following up on the input in the forms by going over suggestions in class and making it very clear she cares about the class. Unfortunately she will not be teaching more Rice classes (for the foreseeable future), but I'm very grateful to have been able to take COMP 182 with her.
